The two-person relay team category started in 2007 will continue for those wishing to race less than 50K. 2-Person Relay Teams in 3 categories: Female, Male, and Mixed will compete for separate awards. Individual and 5-person team competitions will offer unique new awards.

RELAY TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Two-person relay teams will compete in three categories: Female Open, Male Open, and Mixed Male/Female Open,with first place awards being presented for each category. Each team must submit one copy of the completed entry form per team with both signatures and the entry fee. The first team member will begin the 50K race with the rest of the field at 7:00 a.m. and run to the Buck Run Aid Station at Mile 7 where the second team member will continue the relay on the course around the upper loop before returning to the Buck Run Relay Point at Mile 15.1. The first team member will relieve the second team member and run the second loop of the course before meeting her/his partner again at the Buck Run Relay Point at Mile 23.2. The second team member will complete the course to finish where the race began. Transportation to and from the Buck Run Aid Station (the relay point) shall be the responsbility of team members. Please exercise caution if parking and operating your vehicle while other participants and spectators are in the area. Please park off the road and do not block other vehicles.

PRE-RACE DINNER AND PACKET PICKUP
Packet Pickup will be on Friday, September 5, 2008, between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.
a pre-race Spaghetti Dinner will start at 6:00 p.m.at the Punxsutawney Community
Center. Reservations for the Spaghetti Dinner for family or friends are requested in
advance. Send for additional tickets above with entry. Packet Pickup on Race Day
will be between 6:30 and 6:45 a.m.at the Starting Line at the Community Center.
ANNOUNCEMENT: The Pre-Race Meeting and Dinner location has changed
from the Community Center to the Pantall Hotel located on routes 119 and 36,
right downtown on the main street (135 Mahoning Street), a one block walk
from the Community Center. Plenty of parking at either location.
Random drawings for certificates good for five pairs of Montrail shoes
and other cool gift merchandise will occur after 6:00 p.m. following the pre-race dinner.
Winners will come from those in attendance. Invited Guest Speakers who have
distinguished themselves in ultra running will speak following the dinner.
Last minute instructions will be reviewed and race questions will be answered.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The event begins at the Punxsutawney Community Center. Course is up and down hills,
along country roads, on trails, logging roads, pipeline rightaways, and across streams.
The finish is downtown at the Punxsutawney Community Center.
The course will be marked with white paint on rocks, the ground, or grass,
with major changes of direction marked with fluorescent orange paint.
Race participants usually face a mild warm up in temperatures before finishing and
may expect variable humidity running in the woods. Conditions are unpredictable and
pre-race precipitation varies from year to year, so be prepared.
Support personnel will sweep the course following the race
to pick up trash (please be kind)

AID SUPPORT STATIONS

Support stations every three to four miles enable entrants to
participate without the need to carry additional fluids and gels.
Support stations provided with Hammer Gel pouches, sport replacement drink, Water, Pepsi, Fruit,
& Snacks. Handler Crews have access to all stations. See Handlers' Map.
Medical EMT's and an ambulance are stationed at the Buck Run support station
at mile markers 7, 15.1, and 23.2, and at the finish.

Available until 5:00 on race day next to the finish at the Community Center
Bring your own towel.
DIRECTIONS
From Interstate 80, exit at Brookville, go South for about 20 miles on Route 36
to Punxsutawney. The start is at the Community Center at the second traffic light in town on the left.
For Packet Pickup and the Pre-Race Dinner go to the third light and turn left to find the Community Center,
one half block on the right at 220 North Jefferson Street.
From Indiana, PA, travel north for 26 miles on Route 119. Turn right at the first traffic light in town, go
two blocks and turn left on North Jefferson Street to the start at the Community Center
.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Free Housing is being offered to participants and their friends and family under a variety of arrangements.
Bring your sleeping bag, a towel, and a lock for a locker and we'll provide the roof, restrooms and shower.

and we will respond to you by email or phone prior to the race to let you know where you will be staying.
